On Saturday, November 15, our Chairman, Prof. Tatsuo Hatta, participated as a panel member in “The 20th Anniversary Conference of CIDEG” organized by the Center for Industrial Development and Environmental Governance (CIDEG) at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

“The 5th Masahiko Aoki Award in Comparative Institutional Economics Award Ceremony” was also held on the same day, and there were parallel forums on various topics on Sunday, November 16.

On April 17, 2025, Guoping Chen, Vice President of the National Academy of Economic Strategy (NAES) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and four other researchers from NAES visited the Asian Growth Research Institute (AGI). During the visit, members of AGI and NAES held a discussion meeting focused on Asia’s economic development and potential future research collaborations.

AGI signed an academic exchange agreement with “the School of Social Development and Public Policy”, Fudan University located in Shanghai, China in 2006. We have been holding a joint forum every year since 2010, and we just held our 15th joint forum in person at Fudan University on Friday, December 6. The forum was hosted by Fuday University this year. The theme of the forum was “Declining Birthrates in East Asia: Causes, Impacts, and Countermeasures”, which is the same as last year, and researchers from AGI and Fudan University presented and discussed on situations in Japan, China and Taiwan.

We have been holding joint seminars with universities and research institutions in Taiwan every year since FY 2015.

From Tuesday, June 18 to Thursday, June 20, 2024, “The 15th EDAILY Strategy Forum” organized by Edaily, Korea’s total economic information service provider, was held in Seoul, Korea, and our Chairman, Dr. Tatsuo Hatta, was invited to present in person.

The theme of their 15th forum was “Demographic Crisis: New Imagination, Paradigm Shift”, and Dr. Hatta presented in a session called “In an era of population decline, solutions to respond to rural extinction”.

The forum is in partnership with Policy Evaluation Research Institute (PERI), whom we signed an academic exchange agreement with in October 2023, and “EDAILY-PERI Special Symposium” was held on the first day.
