Study on Declining Population and Super-Aging Society and Low Carbonization of Cities: Case of Kitakyushu

This research aims to clarify the impacts of declining population and super-aging society on low carbonization of cities. Conducting a case study of Kitakyushu-city, the research quantitatively and qualitatively investigates the impacts of urban change (including demography, industrial structure, infrastructure, size of public facilities, resource and energy consumption, and individual lifestyle) to be brought by declining population and super-aging society on urban greenhouse gas emissions. The research also considers the future of declining population and super-aging cities from its findings.
