In this paper, we studied the impact of local governments’ SDGs promotion status on regional revitalization. The results showed that for all municipalities, the relationship between the status of SDGs promotion and regional revitalization was not statistically significant. However, subsample analysis based on population size, the coefficient of SDGs promotion status was statistically significantly positive for municipalities with populations between 50,000 and 200,000 (medium-size municipalities), indicating that the effect of SDGs promotion on regional revitalization is heterogeneous by population size. It is suggested that promoting the SDGs in medium-size municipalities will promote regional revitalization by increasing the moving in rate and taxable income per taxpayer.
