Contents Introduction

This paper shows a case study of “Taidah Entrepreneurship Center (TEC)” that is one of the research centers attached to “National Taiwan University (NTU)”. Since the establishment of a course specialized in entrepreneurship education at NTU in 2008, the NTU startup ecosystem has progressed. TEC was established in 2014 to support startup teams as an extension of this entrepreneurship education. Currently, TEC manages 3 core programs, namely, “NTU Garage” for early-stage teams, “NTU Accelerator” for more mature teams, and “NTU Corporate Accelerator” for the development of both startups and established companies. In addition, TEC has recently launched an entrepreneurship education course for outsiders (“創辦人學堂”) and has organized its own angel investment club (“天使投資俱樂部”) to expand the scope of its activities. This paper depicts TEC’s efforts to build and expand the startup ecosystem centered on NTU as a “strategic story” and elucidates the overall picture.
