Title

Family Care and Middle-Aged Women’s Employment in China

Abstract

家族介護は、無償労働として世界で注目されている。2030年の持続可能な開発（SDGs）の目標には、無償の家族介護活動を評価するための目標が含まれている。家族介護の担う手は女性である。中国では、少子高齢化の進展に伴って、労働力が減少している。家族介護が中国の中年女性の労働参加に与える影響に関する実証研究は重要な課題となっている。本研究では、中国健康と退職パネル調査の個票データを用い、内生性問題に対処したうえで、親の介護、孫のケアが中国の中年女性の労働参加に与える影響を分析した。操作変数法、固定効果モデルを用いた分析結果より、以下の結論が得られた。第1に、孫のケアが49～54歳の中年女性の労働参加を抑制し、この負の効果は低学歴女性、都市女性グループでより大きい。第2に、親を介護しないグループに比べ、親を介護するグループで労働参加の確率が高い。労働所得獲得効果は時間制約効果より大きいことが示された。また年齢階層および学歴によって、これらの効果が異なる。今後、中年女性の労働参加を促進するため、高質な公的育児サービスの提供および介護保険制度の実施が必要であることは示唆された。
